This route starts in Nordskoven north of Rønne, where you cycle north to the old market town of Hasle and further towards the two idyllic fishing villages of Hellig Peder and Teglkås. The route then continues towards the iconic Jons Kapel, which is a spectacular cliff at the foot of a long staircase. It is worth parking the bike and walking along the steep hill to the foot of the cliff along the water’s edge.
When you get back on the bike, the route only becomes more impressive as you cycle north. Through Ringebakkerne you experience a wild and violent natural area. In Vang you will find the old granite quarry, where you can enjoy the view from the DGI bridge or see the hidden gem Himalayaklippen.
The route continues along winding roads in the beautiful Finnedal and up to Bornholm’s most famous attraction – the Hammershus castle ruin.
From Hammershus the route continues through Moseløkken, a quarry and a museum dedicated to the local history of the place. From here you cycle on and pass Ravnedalen, which is another of Bornholm’s hidden natural gems. It is a beautiful valley that is worth visiting all year round.
The route continues to Olsker, with Olsker Rundkirke, which is the island’s highest round church. From Olsker the route continues to Spellinge Mose, through the old railroad stretch at Kleven and on to Klemensker Church and Præstemosen.
The last stretch of the tour is relaxing, as the route goes gently downhill back to the starting point in Nordskoven.
