Camping on Bornholm – travel with your own motorhome

Holidays in motorhomes are easy and convenient. At the same time, the holiday form offers great freedom.

Motorhome holiday on Bornholm

It is easy and simple to get to Bornholm with your own motorhome by ferry from either Køge (Denmark) or Ystad (Sweden).

Being in a motorhome, there are several different options for resting or camping on Bornholm:

  • Public roads, rest areas and parking lots
  • The three municipal ports
  • Farm camping
  • Campsites

Public roads, rest areas and parking lots

On public roads and car parks you may rest and spend the night in order to continue driving safely. You may not stay for more than one night, as this is defined as camping and must take place on the campsites. The motorhome must be able to fit inside the stall for this to be legal.

The three municipal ports: Nørrekås, Hasle and Tejn

There are 6 motorhome pitches at each of the 3 municipal ports: Nørrekås, Hasle and Tejn. The ports are open for motorhomes in the period 15 May to 15 September.

You can stay on the site from the time of arrival until the following day at 12

You can stay at the ports for free, and you can also purchase extra services that include electricity, water, access to waste disposal, shower and toilet facilities and Wi-Fi.

Farm camping

Agricultural properties might offer accommodation for up to 3 motorhomes close to the property’s residence.

Campsites

All over Bornholm you will find good campsites, and here there is everything from 5-star luxury to cozy primitive nature sites.

No matter where you choose to live, you will come very close to the unique nature of Bornholm, and you are always close to the island’s many attractions and sights.

At the island’s campsites you will meet hosts who are passionate about the guest and Bornholm. They will be able to help you find the island’s hidden gems and hidden treasures, so that you get all the memorable experiences with you home from your holiday.

When you stay at the island’s campsites, you can of course also take advantage of the campsites’ many facilities. At the same time, you also contribute to the local community and help ensure that Bornholm, also in the future, is a growing community with exciting experiences for the joy and benefit of everyone.

Get the best experiences

Bornholm’s nature is unique and with a rich wildlife, which attracts guests from all over the world. We Bornholmers love to show off the island’s beauty. We are proud of the island and cherish it.

When you visit Bornholm as a guest, we hope that you will help us take care of nature and always ensure that you leave it as you would like to experience it yourself.

It is important for Bornholm’s other tourists, Bornholm residents and motorhome campers, that everyone has some good experiences on Bornholm. Everyone should therefore show consideration for each other and respect the nature-sensitive and scenic areas that characterize Bornholm.

The location of your motorhome should therefore be done in such a way that this is respected.

Remember to take all waste with you in the car when you leave an area, and never empty your toilet or greywater tanks in nature. In addition to the fact that you can do this at several of the island’s good campsites, there are places on the island that are equipped to receive your wastewater, see the places below.
