Route description

You set off in the hillier part of the large forest areas of the mid-island. Vestermarie Plantage is the southern starting point and the first kilometers are up and down.

You pass the lake Puggekullekær and the bog Vættesmose on the way to the northern part of Almindingen.

After that, it flattens out and you follow long, deserted stretches of forest roads in deep spruce forest. Halfway through, the route turns south again and passes the corner of the quiet wetland Hagemyr.

The route continues south before turning towards Rytterknægten via the small steep Klokkerpiltvej.

The bison forest is passed, and if you are lucky and look carefully, they are standing along the fence. The route follows the beautiful Grønnevadsvej, which runs along grazing cattle and rocky areas.

You pass by the early medieval castle Lilleborg, and the trip ends with a nice and strenuous climb to Rytterknægten.
