A route that I could easily ride as one of my training rides.
You will go around almost the entire island, but not along the coast. The majority of the route is ridden on small roads. Even though some of the big hills are not visited, the altitude gains still increase towards the end.
The route starts in Rønne, and the first 10 km are along Søndre Landevej. When you leave Søndre Landevej by driving inland, it is about 30 km before you hit a two-lane road again in Østermarie.
Shortly afterwards you wind your way around the small roads of North Bornholm and ride another 30 km before you are again on a two-lane road in the form of Simblegårdsvej.
At the bottom of Simblegårdsvej you take a short stretch of the country road before the trip goes down to Hasle Lystskov, and then the rest of the trip to Rønne is in or along the forest.
Rønne is Bornholm's largest city and rich in history and culture. Rønne is also your first encounter with Bornholm, as this is where you arrive on the island by plane or ferry. Read more here.
