Bicycle route: Country road, Around Bornholm – even through Sandvig

Magnus Cort's take on Bornholm by road bike follows most of National Cycle Route 10 with a trip through Sandvig as well.

Facts about the route

Length: 104 km
Surface: Asphalt
Altitude difference: ↑ 706 ↓ 705

Route description

It is pretty much one hundred percent up to you where you start the trip, and which way around the island you ride. One option is to start flat with about 50 km in your legs along the south coast up towards Svaneke.

When you reach the old market town, the hills begin, and they level out all the way to Hasle. On the stretch between Svaneke and Gudhjem, for example, you will encounter the Ypnasted hill, which is probably the toughest climb on the route, and the stretch past the Hammershus Castle ruin, through Slotslyngen, can also be felt in your legs to some extent.
