Hammerknuden - or just Hammeren - is a very special nature area. Experience the raw rocky coast, the old granite breach and the unique view of the Baltic Sea.
Hammershus is North Europe's largest medieval castle. The castle offers you a great view of the Baltic Sea and in clear weather all the way to the Swedish coast. You can also enjoy the view from the rooftop terrace of the new Hammershus visitor center.
Rispebjerg - a large place, that looks more like a field than anything else, is one of Bornholms most interesting places. It has a history that dates back at least 5000 years, when the place was used for ritual offerings within a sun cult - and you will also find the last remainders of an old castle.
Bornholm is without a doubt the place in all of Denmark, where most rock carvings have been found in such a small area. A great place to see the carvings is Madsebakke at Allinge Stadium.
If you need to relax then go for a walk along the long and fine sandy beaches. Dueodde beach is the finest of them all and here you can go in winter without meeting a single person
If you have been on a walk on Nordbornholm, you can end the day with a culinary experience and try out Restaurant Det Gamle Posthus (Restaurant The Old Post Office) in Allinge and enjoy a delicious "Dinner for two".
In the middle of the Døndalen (translatable as “The Thunder Valley”) you’ll find Denmark’s highest waterfall – with around 20 metres (or 65 ft). From the cliff called Amtmandsstenen, “the stone of the bailiff”, you’ll have a unique and breathtaking view over the tree tops, the sea and all the way to Christiansø..
At Bornholm Museum of Art at Rø you can experience the special light that surrounds the Bornholm landscape and has attracted many art painters over the years. Watch their and many others' works at the art museum.
In Østerlars you will find the Bornholm ski slope that is open when it snows. Hop in the skis and try skiing at the island's only ski slope with lift and piste.
