The route starts from the small fishing village of Melsted south of Gudhjem and from here climbs upwards into the landscape along a good bicycle path along the Kobbeådalen.
Close to the bicycle path you will find the 8-meter-high Stavehøl Waterfall. Turn past Østerlars Rundkirke, which is Bornholm’s and Denmark’s largest and oldest round church.
Continue to Bornholm’s largest forest, Almindingen. Before turning onto Bicycle Route 26, you can take a few detours to, among others, Ekkodalen, Lilleborg and Rytterknægten.
Follow the route through the rugged Rø Plantage and stop at the man-made Borgedalssø. From here, roll down to Gudhjem, and treat yourself to a bike ride at the town’s many cafes and ice cream shops.

For many, Rø Plantage is first and foremost Borgedalssøen in Søndre Borgedal. Either the spectacular view from Sigtevej or the picturesque ride around it. But the largest part of the plantation lies on the other side of the lake, and here the visitor is greeted by a dramatic landscape with rift valleys, cliffs and steep rises and falls in the terrain.
