In a unique interaction, Gudhjem Banken presents visual artist Jo Dam Kærgaard and poet Fatema Abdoolcarim.

Jo Dam Kærgaard’s works are a luminous encounter with the nature of Bornholm; the sea, the sky and the afterglow of Gudhjem’s magical sunsets. As an extra dimension, in sketches and larger works, one can join a journey to Greenland.

Fatema Abdoolcarim is an internationally recognized filmmaker and writer. She has now also published her first poetry collection “Tremble”. Texts from this are exhibited in both Danish and English, which is Fatema’s main language.

The layout of the texts are in themselves graphic works that reflect the content; the dream of motherhood, reminiscences and the encounter with Gudhjem.

In 2025, Fatema moved very close to the Baltic Sea:

“It is just her and her husband in their

          home eaten by salt

with the roof bowing into the windows—”

where:

“trembling, the barn owl floats close

if I reach out I could touch the tip of his wing”

Welcome to a very special experience for everyone, with a quiz for children and young people.

Opening April 18th at 3 pm. Both artists will be present.
