Bicycle route: MTB Vestermariesporet

The Vestermariesporet trails are designed for MTB with flow in mind. The surface is 100% dirt, and the grip is more consistent with 4 blue and red trails, with different entrances, so the ride doesn't get monotonous.

Route description

In Vestermarie Plantage you will find a number of trails that differ slightly from the trails you find at Rytterknægten. First of all, all trails are deliberately made in clay soil, and there is therefore a completely different grip and feeling in the trail when you, for example, throw your bike into a berm. The terrain in Plantagen is smoothly descending, and most trails are therefore flowy and more than rideable for most people. For the experienced, there are several places with rollers and stone steps that you can play on, at the right speed. The trails are generally kept natural, so don’t expect pure flow trails.

From the top, three trails go down towards the first dirt road you encounter on your way down. While the trails Kofoed 19 and Jørgen Jordting both end at the dirt road, the last trail runs together with the area’s jump trail 21 jump street, as well as the more xc-oriented Wyatt Burp.

At the gravel road you hit a connecting trail that takes you through a wetland to Plantagen’s 4 lower trails. Here the difficulty increases slightly, as the gradient increases, especially towards the bottom. Be aware that the Undskyld trail is significantly different from the rest of the trails in Vestermarie. Yes, to put it bluntly, it is a real beast to ride. However, the trail’s slow tech and impossible passages are designed so that Trailcenter Bornholm can represent all types of trails.

Back at the top, the return trail starts directly opposite the aforementioned descents. It is easy to follow, and takes you directly back to Rytterknægten.
