When you enter the city of Svaneke from the North, you'll see the modern three-legged watertower on the right side.
Svaneke Watertower was drawn by Jørn Utzon
The beautiful watertower in Svaneke – and one of its most important landmarks – was drawn in 1952 by the then young architect Jørn Utzon. He also designed the Sydney Opera House, in the late 1950s. Inspired by ancient navigational aids, the water tower stands on three legs with a staircase in the middle. The tower was taken out of use in 1990, but is a protected historical monument today.
