Gallery and ceramics workshop
Køppe Contemporary Objects in Rønne is a new-started international gallery, housing a special selection of sculptural objects and jewelry made of wood, metal, glass and ceramics from a row of leading danish craftsmen. Behind the gallery is Bettina Køppe, who after more than 20 years in Copenhagen last year chose to move her gallery to Bornholm, because the artists and makers environment on the rock island is very unique – also because of the new title World Craft Region.
Michael Geertsen has organised his studio and workshop in the same building. Michael Geertsen is one of Denmarks leading ceramists and is represented in design museums all over the world, i.e. in London and New York. His current project is a special show with sculptural ceramics at Trapholt in Kolding, and during the spring months a lot of danes probably followed him as judge in the Ceramic Fight on the danish TV2.
