Activity and playground
Gnejsen is an approx. 3000 m2 large activity and playground at Aakirkeby Hallerne, a 5–10-minute walk from the town center and directly opposite NaturBornholm. The location by the football, pétanque, and tennis courts and NaturBornholm, close to the city’s multi-track and only a short 10-minute walk from the campfire cabin in Sdr. Byskov emphasizes the good connection between the diverse offers in Aakirkeby.
The area is furnished with a multitude of tools, activities, and accommodation options for users of all ages – children, young people, adults, and seniors. You can speed off on cable cars, climb, swing, jump, balance, play, hang out – and train on Bornholm’s first OCR track, designed in collaboration with Bornholm’s world athlete, Nikolaj Dam. There is also room for the quieter challenges in the part of the activity area which is dedicated to rehabilitation and senior-exercises, and which was established with funds donated by the Villum Foundation.
Different types of plants form part of a sensory garden and wild meadow plants contribute to an improved natural foundation.
