Gudhjem Banken shows a very special exhibition with new works by Jo Dam Kærgaard. They are based, among other things, on a story from another century. A story that Jo Dam Kærgaard found in a drawer and couldn’t let go before it was finished writing.
The following is an excerpt from “The Sun Seldom Comes Alone”:
“The view is green and hazy. The Pearl of the Lake shines in the early spring. Hanna sings from the morning and every evening the tall one comes with the braids and has the Dinner of the Day with one glass of water and one glass of beer. When he leaves, the agreed amount lies on the red-checkered tablecloth together with a feather, a stone, a seashell, an eagle’s beak, a pearl, a red string, a doll’s eye, a small finger ring, a piece of wood that looks like a fish…”
The story is easy to read and there is a guarantee of a happy ending and time to immerse yourself in the new works at the exhibition, which opens together with the Bornholm Art Tour on Thursday, May 29.
Gudhjem Banken also presents organic sea buckthorn from Høstet and there is a quiz for children and young people.
“The Sun Seldom Comes Alone” continues until June 29:
Thursday, June 5th – Sunday, June 15th, 2-5pm
& June 19th – 29th, Thursday – Sunday, 2-5pm
