Partly inspired by the 100th anniversary of André Breton’s Surrealist Manifesto and by the Danish artist collective Linien, Svanekegaarden invites you to “Cercle Surreal”, curated by Nynne Rosenkrantz Christiansen.
Ten contemporary artists from Bornholm interpret surrealism in a modern context and create a visual circuit — a sensory-rich journey through works where the boundaries between reality and dream are blurred. With an eye for the absurd, the fragile, the dark, and the light, “Cercle Surreal” invites the audience into a world of hypnosis, poetry, love, and loss, with underlying reflections on the current state of the world.
The exhibition is both a tribute to the roots of surrealism and a reinterpretation of its potential today. It is a journey into the unconscious, where logic dissolves and symbols take over.
