Balka beach is one of the most popular beaches of Bornholm.
Balka beach with the finest sand and shallow water
Balka beach is one of the most popular beaches on Bornholm. It’s several kilometres long and has very fine sand and shallow water. The beach is sheltered from the prevailing west wind of summer and is known for its warm, shallow water, where children can romp for hours in the gentle waves. On the other hand, you have to go a long way out if you want to swim.
Water sports at Balka beach
There are lifeguards at Balka beach in peak season, and you can hire water cycles, windsurfing equipment, and deck chairs.
Parking and facilities
Balka beach starts in Snogebæk – which has lots of shops and restaurants – and ends in Balka with miniature golf, restrooms and plenty of parking.
Balka beach is handicap-friendly
You have good access to the beach via a trail and a tree ramp from the parking lot on Frederiksvej. The ramp leads to the beach, and from there, you can have a walk on the beach, even when your feet may not carry a longer distance at a time.
