Pedestal Rocks on Bornholm

Visit Bornholm and see the three pedestal rocks on the island. You'll find them in the Paradise Hills (Paradisbakkerne), in the Almindingen Forest and in the Rutsker Højlyng nature area.

Bornholms biggest pedestal rock is in Paradisbakkerne
In the Paradise Hills on Eastbornholm, you will find the biggest pedestal rock on the island. Park your car at the parking lot on Lisegårdsvejen and follow the sign. The rock itself weighs around 35 tons and was left here by former glaciers around 10.000 years ago.

Rokkestenen i Almindingen
In the Almindingen forest, north of Lilleborg, you’ll find another pedestal rock, left by the last glaciers. A fairy tale says, that the rocks rests upon a diamond, which is why he still rocks today. The rock weighs about 7 tons.

Pedestal Rock in the Rutsker Højlyng area
Rutsker Høyling has several big bloks, but the pedestal rock (rokkesten) is the most known of them, and has a weight of about 20 tons.
