SIRIUS

16-year-old Sirius – alias on43- is an impressive digital artist who creates his work by hand-drawing; he hails from Rønne on the island of Bornholm. He collaborates with some of America’s coolest underground rappers, working as a cover designer, producer, and musical partner.

Success hasn’t gone to his head in the slightest. Sirius is as straightforward and reliable as the Sirius Patrol in Greenland- steady in any weather. He spends time outdoors every day, often walking along country roads to get fresh air and find inspiration for a creative universe that knows no bounds. Anything can be tried; anything can happen.

The same applies at Gudhjem Banken, where Sirius has set up his workshop amidst a wealth of materials and music. More than 50 of Sirius’s digitally hand-drawn works are on display.

Sirius has also ventured into working with physical materials – an area where he is challenged by professional artists featured in the exhibition.

The Professionals

Hans E Madsen offers challenges through large-format painting and light; Gaia Armyrantis Trampedach through croquis (life drawing); Susanne Enehjelm through watercolor; and Jo Dam Kærgaard (curator/exhibition manager) through sculptural work and more. Works serving as inspiration from all four artists are also on display.

Experience or Participate

Neither experiencing nor participating requires any prior knowledge or skills; simply let yourself be inspired by the curiosity driving the SIRIUS project.

The exhibition and open workshop – complete with materials – are open daily.
