Beaches on Bornholm - sand, sea and SUN!!

If you love the sun and beach life, Bornholm is one of the best holiday destinations in Northern Europe.

Thanks to Bornholm's geographical location, there are more hours of sun there than elsewhere in Denmark - and we can prove it!

You can always find a sheltered spot. There are hollows and cliffs on many beaches, and the distances are so small that you can always go to another beach.

There's enormous variety. From the child-friendly beach with shallow water at Balka and the almost endless beach at Dueodde to the rocky coast at Sandkås and Sandvig.

In the summer the clear water of the Baltic warm up quite quickly and, once the water is warm, the Baltic and the cliffs hold the temperature for a long time. That's why Bornholm is known for excellent bathing as late as September, weather permitting.

CAUTION!
As always when swimming in the sea, you have to watch out for the undertow. It pays to be cautious when the wind is blowing onshore.

In calm weather the waves caused by the high-speed ferry that operates between Rønne and Ystad can take small children at the water's edge by surprise. This mainly applies to the Nørrekås Beach, Antoinette Beach and Galløkken Beach in Rønne.
